Two Detentions in the Aftermath of London Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Incident

This incident caused the partial shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area.

An additional two individuals are now in custody in connection with a robbery at London's Heathrow Airport in which 21 people sustained injuries by what is thought to be an irritant spray, as stated by law enforcement.

A 24-year-old man, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area for suspected robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals are still being held, authorities confirmed.

These detentions come after a probe into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the incident, two women had stolen from them their luggage after getting out of a parking garage elevator.

A toddler aged three was one of the those hurt in the event. Five people were taken to the hospital for treatment and were later discharged.

Police detained a man in his thirties for suspected theft and assault near the location. He was subsequently released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.

Authorities were called at about 08:10 GMT following reports of a number of people injured by a noxious substance believed to be an irritant spray.

The attack - an event that police said was isolated and not being treated as an act of terror - caused delays to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility for a short time.
