19 of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been earned on hardcourt
A revitalized Medvedev won his initial title for 882 days with success over Corentin Moutet in the tournament title decider.
The Russian, a former number one, has had a challenging year, achieving just a single victory at the big events and suffering a difficult moment at the US Open.
The player's inconsistency on the professional circuit - and issues with his serve in especial - caused him exiting of the top ten and ultimately separating with long-time mentor Cervara.
Currently working with his coach and his other coach, he has gradually improved in the recent weeks - culminating in a closely contested three-set triumph over challenger Corentin Moutet.
It is Medvedev's first trophy since the Italian tournament and initial on a hard surface since that period of the previous year.
Success also indicates Medvedev has achieved twenty-one victories at 21 different tournaments.
"For the first time I have attended a competition with my two daughters together, so to get a championship is really nice," said ranked player Medvedev.
"This victory is in dedication of my child my daughter, because the first title I achieved when my child Alisa was delivered was for her."
The tennis star, the former major winner, had lost his past six title deciders, including in the German tournament earlier this year.
The player's defensive approach and recurring outbursts on court had caused some to question if his ability to compete at the highest level was concluded.
But the player has made changes in the past month, making an effort to advance forward and compete aggressively, backed up by an enhanced service.
Medvedev came back from a break down in the initial set against the tricky Frenchman, winning 4 of the concluding five games to take the lead.
The pair traded service breaks in the following set before Moutet, bidding for his maiden professional championship, gained dominance to push for a third set.
He rescued four early opportunities in a close deciding set before the champion secured a break to 15 to close out the victory.
Appropriately, Medvedev earned the win with a shot at the net, with Moutet unable to control a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
