Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master the talented storyteller has kept viewers on edge with extensive world-building, a diverse cast of heroes, and a thrilling plot featuring celestial beings, fiends, and sinister influences expanding in power within the city.
Warning: Revealing details for Episode 3 of this adventure lie ahead.
The Soldiers Table Revealed
The latest chapter concluded with a major cliffhanger and presented the first table of heroes who will separate from the primary party to begin their independent quest, distinct from the additional parties.
This warrior group consists of Teor Pridesire (brought to life by the voice actor), Thimble (Laura), the fierce warrior (Whitney), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie Daymond).
Dividing the Cast
Given a large ensemble, it was clear from the outset that keeping everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.
This explains, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, intertwining the personal journeys before branching into three distinct groups: Fighters, Planners, and Questers.
The Nature of the Warrior Group
Per the DM, the warrior group is for participants who are drawn to a traditionally charged battle-oriented story mode where diplomatic options are few and far between.
Upon first impression, figures such as the reluctant priest the cleric might look unsuited, but the events of the third episode demonstrate why these five characters are perfectly fit for the Soldiers table.
Motivations for Departure
To begin with, the group has a clear idea where to head next after a violent first encounter with The Crow Keepers.
Casimir of Thjazi—whose demise kicked off the narrative’s action—exploited the foes for his selfish purposes, entering Thjazi’s hideout, striking the rogue, and taking all the enchanted items to auction.
Casimir then cleared his obligations and fled to a fortified location in Gormalay, Timmony, above Dol-Makjar, with Cyd hot on his heels.
Personal Motivations
Secondly, each adventurer has a personal reason to leave the city Dol-Makjar:
- The rogue, as the companion and trusted friend, wants vengeance.
- The knowledgeable figure knows Timmony and warns that it is a dangerous place.
- The warrior and Wicander, having resisted his house’s orders to execute Teor and instead freed him, have no safe haven.
- However, their status as prominent individuals in the influential clan could assist the group reach places they normally couldn’t.
- Moreover, Teor swore a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his rescue and will now accompany him wherever.
Wanted and Hunted
In addition, all of them are hunted by the authorities that govern Dol-Makjar for a range of causes, making lingering locally too risky:
- The agile adventurer and Kattigan are recognized lawbreakers.
- The warrior and The healer turned against House Halovar and the legion of demons they are allied with.
- The target is wanted dead by the family.
This leaves them no alternative but to head to Timmony in pursuit of the traitor.
Future Episodes
According to episode three’s Cooldown, we discover that the Soldiers table will not appear the following episode, leaving the remaining eight participants to form the Seekers and Strategists groups.
